Sail Sydney 2012

This event was first staged in 1994 as a training regatta on Sydney Harbour for Olympic class sailors in the lead up to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Since then, the event has continued over the years and usually attracts 250 to 400 competing crews from most Australian States and approximately 30 countries. The regatta is one of only eight categorised as a Grade 1 Event by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).

2011 saw the introduction of a new format to significantly increase the scale and scope of the event so that it is truly representative of the diverse nature of sailing that across New South Wales.
